The Motorola CP200 is a two-way radio that provides high performance and durability. This gives users the option of upgrading from a traditional handheld radio with an antenna to a more powerful wireless device. The main features of the Motorola CP200 are its double antennas, 256KB RAM, and 128MB ROM. This article will explain how to install the software for the Motorola Cp200 radio so that it can be programmed easily on your PC or laptop. You can also use this information on how to program other brands of radios including Connex CS-C3, CS300A, CS300B, CTX875B & MAZ2000A radios from Motorola as well as some other brands from Uniden. A Cp200 radio is a two-way radio that can be powered from either a 9V "cigarette lighter" plug or from an externally powered 2-AA battery pack that is inserted into the bottom of the device. The battery pack must be of the same brand and type which was used in the CP200. This means using a Duracell NiMH rechargeable battery pack would not work, nor would using a standard Alkaline battery. The CP200 comes with a wrist strap and belt clip, but neither are necessary for programming. However, if you wish to use them you can remove them from their original packaging and connect them to the device. The CP200 is powered from a USB port. Because its power source is a USB port it does not draw a lot of power. Therefore the CP200 can be plugged into a computer's USB port and still charge its battery while programming. This makes for very convenient programming sessions. The Motorola CP200 software that we will be using for this article can be found on the "Motorola" website at http://www.motorola-csi. com/products/software/pcb1.html. The software that we will use is the 32 bit software for Windows XP, Vista, and 7. The software can be downloaded from their website or from the Motorola website itself. Once you have downloaded the CP200-USB-Driver-Setup.exe file you will need to install it onto your computer. The procedure is simple.
